A person has been injured in a fall at a Dorset beauty spot.
Emergency services were called to Kimmeridge Bay this afternoon.
The coastguard helicopter was scrambled and the person was rescued and taken to hospital by South Western Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: “At around midday today, HM Coastguard received reports of a casualty who had fallen on rocks at Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset.
“An HM Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Lee-on-Solent was sent, alongside coastguard rescue teams (CRTs) from Kimmeridge and Lulworth.
“The casualty was assessed by the helicopter's paramedic and airlifted to Poole. Coastguards from Poole and Southbourne prepared the Poole Helicopter Landing Site, and the patient was passed into the care of South West Ambulance Service for onward transportation to hospital.”
