A car caught fire on the A35 near Puddletown last night.
The vehicle caught fire yesterday evening, and a crew from Bere Regis Fire Station were called to attend at 10.14pm.
However, due to the nature of the fire and the heavy rain, the fire was already out by the time the crew arrived. The driver and passengers had been able to exit the vehicle safely.
A spokesperson for the Bere Regis Fire Station said: "Yesterday evening, our fire engine was called out to a car fire on the A35 near Puddletown.
"On arrival, due to the weather conditions and the nature of the fire, it was found to have already self-extinguished and the driver and passengers had been able to exit the vehicle safely.
"Beyond a thorough investigation to ensure the vehicle was safe, with no danger of re-ignition, no action was required."
