Three people have been rescued from their vehicles after a two-vehicle crash on a main road.

Emergency services were called to Holmebridge after receiving reports of a two-vehicle road crash on the A352. 

Two fire crews, from Poole and Wareham, helped to pull three people out of their vehicles. 

They were passed in the care of the ambulance service but there are no reports of any injuries. 

Both ways of the B3070 were blocked while emergency services deal with the incident. 

Heavy traffic was reported on the A352 with one driver describing as "an absolute nightmare."

At 6.10pm the crash was cleared and traffic returned to normal. 

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 3.56pm today (27 September) to Holmebridge with reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

"A crew from Wareham and two crews from Poole attended where we provided casualty care and assisted three people out of their vehicles and left in the care of ambulance crews. 

"One crew remains on scene to assist with scene safety."

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At 3.55pm on Friday, September 27, we received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Holmebridge in Wareham.

"This is the junction for the B3070 and the A352. The road is currently blocked.

"Officers are in attendance. There are currently no reports of injury.

"Arrangements have been made for the recovery of the vehicles."
