Two men have been charged with threatening a member of the public with a blade in a Weymouth car park.
It follows an alleged assault in the Park Street area of the town which saw at least two people injured in a spate of violence along with a driver of a car being threatened.
At the time it was reported that during the incident a driver of a Citroen was threatened in Park Street car park by individuals who were armed with knives.
Two women sustained minor injuries during the incident.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at around 3.10am on Sunday 3 December 2023 that a group of people were behaving aggressively towards members of the public in the area of Park Street.
"It was further reported that a member of the public was threatened by two men carrying knives.
"Following enquires by officers, a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man – both from Weymouth – were arrested and subsequently charged with affray, possession of an offensive weapon and threatening with a bladed article.
"The 20-year-old man was also charged with assault."
"They are due to attend Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 23."
