A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash.

The two-vehicle crash took place on Lynch Road, Weymouth between a grey BMW 3 series and a silver Honda motorcyclist at around 8.28pm yesterday.

The motorcyclists, aged in his 60s, received treatment at hospital for his injuries and his next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the BMW was uninjured.

Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident. The road reopened at around 12.40am on Tuesday , September 24.

Officers are investigating the serious injury collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the collision, or moments leading up to it, to please contact Dorset Police.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who may have captured the incident on either dashcam or home CCTV footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience while the road was closed. This allowed emergency services to treat the injured man and carry out a scene examination.”
