A luxurious cruise ship has made its Portland debut.
Princess Cruises' largest ship, Sun Princess arrived at Portland Port from Southampton this morning in her first journey outside of the Mediterranean.
Also known as the 'Next Level Love Boat', the ship is the first in the line's Sphere Class and has been hailed as 'the most luxurious to date'.
She carries 4,300 guests and boasts a 'cutting-edge' entertainment space called The Dome, plus an impressive 21 decks and more than 29 restaurants and bars.
The Sun Princess boasts Princess Cruises’ ‘largest-ever casino,’ and the company claims it features the ‘first ‘Buffalo Zone’ at sea.’
It follows its sister ship, the Caribbean Princess which ‘unexpectedly’ docked at Portland Port yesterday (Monday, September 23).
A spokesperson for Portland Port said: “We were contacted by a shipping agent about whether we had availability for a cruise call.
“We are always happy to help where possible and we were pleased to welcome the Caribbean Princess. It is not unusual for cruise lines to make unscheduled calls at Portland, this being the seventh so far this year.”
