A man has appeared in court after firearms were seized from a property in Weymouth.
As reported, there was a major police presence in the Boot Hill area of Weymouth on Sunday morning, with roads in the area closed, as armed police and local officers conducted a search for a man wanted in connection with numerous alleged offences.
During a search of a property, police said three firearms were located amongst other weapons, as well as suspected stolen tools.
Anthony Lee, 44, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with a number of offences.
Lee, of Gloucester Mews, Weymouth, is charged with assault thereby causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and two charges of criminal damage to a property valued under £5,000.
He didn't enter a plea and was remanded in custody.
He will next appear at Bournemouth Crown Court next month when the case is listed for trial.
