A vehicle flipped onto its roof during a crash.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on the A354 between Milborne St Andrew and Puddletown yesterday at 9.55pm.

The driver and passengers fortunately managed to get themselves out of the vehicle unhurt according to the fire service, although they were ‘very shaken up.’

A telephone pole was also damaged during the crash.

Police closed the road following the incident and the vehicle was recovered at about 11.40pm.

A spokesperson for Bere Regis Fire Station said: “Last night, our fire engine was called out to assist our colleagues in the police and ambulance service with scene safety at a road traffic collision between Milborne St Andrew and Puddletown.

“The incident involved a single vehicle which had overturned. Thankfully all the vehicle occupants were able to self-extricate and were unhurt, although very shaken up.”

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 9.41pm on Sunday, September 22 to a report of a single vehicle collision on the A354 near Milborne St Andrew.

"The vehicle was overturned. No injuries were reported. Officers attended with fire and ambulance services.

"Road closures were put in place, damage was caused to telephone pole, and the vehicle recovered and road cleared at around 11.40pm."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 9.59pm on Sunday September 22, to a road traffic collision in Dewlish, Dorchester.

"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an operation officer, and a doctor to the scene.”
