"The window from next door fell out because of the heat, hit the bay window roof and smashed into the road.

"My first thought was that 'I hope everybody is safe' because it was ferocious, then it was 'I hope it doesn't spread to mine'.

"The firemen were here for about two and a half hours. They were really good."

Mrs Parsons says that members of the community came out and offered her a cup of tea and a place to stay whilst she waited to be let back into her home, adding they were 'really lovely'.

Lee Dolbear also lives in the area. He said: "It was a violent fire with flames billowing out.

"There was a clear presence of smoke in the air, I wasn't sure what was going on.

"The heat from the it billowed out with the flames. I looked up and I thought 'oh my god'."
