An arrest has been made after a lorry overturned in a multi vehicle crash on a busy Dorset road this morning.
At around 4.52am on Friday, September 20, Dorset Police received a report of a crash involving two cars and a lorry on the A351 at Blackhill roundabout in Holton Heath, near Wareham.
The lorry ended up on its side and a man in his twenties has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence.
There have been no reports of any serious injuries but one person was taken to hospital for treatment.
The A351 Wareham Road was closed both ways for vehicle recovery and to allow for the emergency services to respond.
It is understood that the road has now reopened.
Heavy traffic was also reported in the area and Dorset Police had urged drivers to find a different route.
The accident was cleared at around 11.20am.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 4.53am on Friday, September 20 to an incident near Holton Health.
“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, and an operations officer to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital."
A spokesperson from Dorset Police a the time said: "We are dealing with a collision on the A351 at Blackhill roundabout in Holton Heath. Due to an ongoing vehicle recovery the road is currently closed.
"We would like to ask motorists to please avoid the area."
