A vital night-time volunteer group has expanded – meaning that they can support people in a time of crisis or disaster.
Two members of the Weymouth Street Pastors have undertaken important training to become ‘response pastors.’
A spokesperson for the group said: “Response pastors are people who have received additional training - and who will travel to an area and offer additional emotional support during a time of crisis or disaster within the UK.
“It is such a privilege for us to be part of this initiative which now incorporates rail, response, school, bridge and college pastors.”
The group now has a total of three response pastors.
The Weymouth Street Pastors can be found in the town centre every Friday and Saturday night, come rain or shine, from around 9.45pm to 3am, in order to make sure that vulnerable people stay safe.
