Police officers have seized at least six small bags of class A drugs from a van in Chickerell.
Officers were out on patrol in Chickerell Road and Glennie Way when they came across a vehicle driver that appeared to be acting suspiciously.
The driver was stopped and searched with police subsequently locating the bags of white powder.
The driver is now assisting police with enquiries.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: “Neighbourhood Officers, were on patrol last night when they spotted a vehicle acting suspiciously in the area of Chickerell Road and Glennie Way.
“The vehicle was stopped, and subsequent checks identified the vehicle was linked to the supply of drugs. The driver was searched under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act and a quantity of Class A drugs were located. The driver is now assisting us with our enquiries.”
