A busy country lane is being resurfaced, ahead of the major six-week closure of a nearby main route.

A road closure is currently in place along Rodden Lane, Langton Herring as in-situ recycling carriageway treatment works take place.

In-situ recycling is the process of simultaneously pulverising the existing carriageway and mixing it with new cement and bitumen emulsion to create a new, strong subbase, which then has a new surface course laid.

The works will take place from 7am-7pm from Thursday, September 12 – Wednesday, September 18.

As a result, all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Rodden Lane, between its junction with Lower Farm Lane and the entrance to Broadcroft, which is a distance of approximately 1065 metres.

It is expected that more motorists will use Rodden Lane as a diversion route when a 200-metre stretch of the B3157 (Goose Hill) in Portesham shuts for around six weeks as part of a major £250,000 water mains scheme.
