Continue the spirit of the proms with a local performance at a church in Weymouth.

The Weymouth Concert Brass band will be playing music associated with the last night of the proms on Saturday, September 28.

It will take place at the Weymouth Bay Methodist Church on Melcombe Avenue from 7.30pm.

The proms are often referred to as the world's greatest classical music festival, with live music from the Royal Albert Hall.

The last night is traditional with audience participation encouraged as the conductor would go through classics such as Land of Hope and Glory, as well as Rule Britannia. This year's last night at the Royal Albert Hall takes place on Saturday, September 14.

A spokesperson for the band said there will be a chance to sing along to the ‘traditional favourites’.

Tickets are £12 on the door or £10 when you phone Pete on 01305 812637.
