A magical cruise ship has docked at Portland.
The Disney Dream arrived at Portland Harbour at 9.50am today (Friday, September 13), bringing along thousands of passengers.
For those wanting to catch a glimpse of the impressive vessel, it is expected to head off this evening at around 8.15pm.
This is the Disney Dream’s second appearance in Portland Harbour - it arrived after travelling overnight from Cobh in Ireland.
Last year, locals gathered to watch the huge cruise ship leave, but not before sharing a unique parting gift as ‘Wish Upon a Star’ played out over its speakers.
The vessel has 18 decks, 14 of which are for public use, and it is approximately 40 per cent larger than its two older sister ships, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.
Its voyage began and ends in Southampton with stops in Greenock, Cork, Portland, Liverpool, and two days at sea.
On its travels, the ship has brought around 4,000 passengers to Dorset.
There’s plenty of on-board entertainment for passengers with West-End inspired musicals transporting audiences inside of a Disney movie.
Imaginative dining experiences, character experiences and freshwater pools are just some of the enjoyments on offer for families.
Disney Dream was christened on January 19, 2011, by Jennifer Hudson.
Other exciting features include a nine-hole golf course, a full-sized basketball court as well as two theatres.
It also boasts two water slides, the AquaDuck, which is a 765-foot-long water coaster that ends in a lazy river and Mickey’s Slide which is a smaller water slide for the kids.
Disney Dream is the fourth cruise ship this week to visit Portland, which has seen around 10,230 passengers pass through the port.
The most recent of which being the Caribbean Princess which visited on Wednesday, which followed the Niew Statesdam, christened by American TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey, which arrived on Monday.
