A broken-down lorry has caused major delays for motorists on a main route in Dorset for around three hours.
It was reported that a lorry broke down on the A35 between Morcombelake and Charmouth, near Berne Lane at around 2pm today (Tuesday, September 10).
According to reports from motorists, the vehicle had been there ‘for hours’ before it was removed sometime around 5.15pm.
One motorist said they had been queueing for an hour between Bridport and Charmouth, whilst another who said they were just a few cars behind the lorry when it happened said they thought a tyre had blown out.
Another resident said that they saw police on site to assist with the incident.
A spokesperson for the Bridport Town Council said: “We’ve heard traffic moving again and the lorry was towed away.”
Traffic began to ease soon after.
Dorset Police have been approached for comment.
