A Dorset environmental group are looking to make the county a cleaner place – one can at a time.
The Weymouth and Portland Marine Litter Project have recently received three new can recycling bins from Every Can Counts, an organisation dedicated to getting people to recycle their empty drink cans.
A spokesperson for WPMLP said: “We love cans as they are endlessly recyclable so after refillable bottles are the most sustainable drinks containers.
“The Front Skatepark and Weymouth Angling Society are already recycling heroes and have helped us recycle over a tonne of cans this year so far.”

The Weymouth and Portland Marine Litter Project was founded by Jane Fuhrmann and Dave Taylor with the main objective being to create community-based projects aimed at reducing the pollution from litter in our seas and on our beaches.
The pair regularly host litter picks around Dorset, recycling as much as possible to make sure it doesn’t end up back in the sea and on the beaches.
