AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a 20-year-old motorcyclist who died at the scene of a crash in Stalbridge.

Sebastian Tyler Scource died after being involved in a crash with a car on the A357 in Cook’s Lane near Spire Hill Farm.

Senior coroner for Dorset, Rachael Griffin, opened the inquest into his death at Bournemouth Town Hall on September 3.

Coroner’s officer, Laura Thorne, told Dorset Coroner’s Court that Sebastian was born on October 6, 2003 in Salisbury.

She said that at the time of his death he was working as an apprentice electrical engineer and was living at an address in Kington Magna, Gillingham.

At around 1pm on August 22 emergency services were called to the scene after reports of a crash involving a blue Yamaha motorbike and a black Audi A6.

Despite best efforts by emergency services, and members of the public, Sebastian was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was formally identified using his photographic ID and police are investigating the incident.

A postmortem examination by Dr Stolte found Sebastian’s provisional cause of death to be from multiple injuries due to a road traffic collision.

Ms Griffin adjourned the hearing for a pre-inquest review on April 25, 2025 at 2pm.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said in an update: "No arrests have been made and our investigation remains ongoing."
