A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital following a crash with a car on Portland.

Police received reports of a crash on Weston Road yesterday (Tuesday, September 3) at around 6pm, and attended the scene along with ambulance services.

According to reports, an 18-year-old man riding a motorcycle collided with a car turning into a side road. He was then taken to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester for treatment to a suspected injury on his arm. 

Officers left the scene around 7.10pm, after notifying the local authority of fuel on the road. 

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Members of Portland NPT attended a road traffic collision on Weston Road tonight at around 6pm. One male riding a motorcycle, collided with a car turning into a side road.

“Portland NPT thanks all those who stopped to help, offer first aid, help direct traffic, and provide us details of what had happened.

“The rider went with Ambulance service to DCH, and we wish him the best in his recovery.”

Officers are appealing for information as they investigate and any witnesses with dash cam footage, or doorbell/CCTV footage relating to the incident are encouraged to report it by calling 101, and quoting 55240136094.
