VISITORS enjoyed a tour of the Galeón Andalucía a Spanish 17th-century replica tall ship which has stopped off in Weymouth.
The Galeón Andalucía is visiting the town until Monday, September 2.
She is berthed at Weymouth Harbour and members of the public have been taking up a rare opportunity aboard the huge ship.
The ship measures 160ft in length and is a full-size replica of a 17th-century Spanish galleon ship from the 1600s, used by the Spanish in maritime expeditions and trade between Spain, America and the Philippines.
Joshua Stone visited the ship with his daughter Bethany Stone and his mother Pauline Charles.
They travelled from Yeovil to see the impressive ship.
Pauline said: "It was brilliant.
"It is a fantastic thing for the town.
"My son has a boat down here but it is not as big as this."
Claire, Lewis and their daughter Daisy Burt went on board after travelling from Bracknell.
Claire said: "It was amazing, I have never seen anything like this.
"It was great to have a chance to go in and have a look around.
"As soon as we pulled up we saw it and it just looks so grand."
Lewis added: "As I approached it, I thought it was like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean.
"We turned up and as soon as we pulled up we could see the sails, so we had to come and have a look.
Daisy added: "It was crazy."
Chris from Dorchester and Jacqueline from Chickerell also took a tour of the ship.
Chris said: "It is excellent.
"I thought £12.50 was expensive at first, but when I walked around it I thought we had good value for money.
"We came for the gig rowing and then took a look at this and we were really pleased.
Jacqueline added: "It blows my mind that ships like this went around the world in the 17th century.
"Without all the gear that we have got these days, they could create these amazing ships."
