A VILLAGE road is to be closed during daytime hours for road maintenance to be carried out.

Rodden Lane in Langton Herring near Weymouth will be shut from Thursday, September 12 until Wednesday, September 18. It will be closed during the hours of 7am and 7pm.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Rodden Lane between its junction with Lower Farm Lane and the entrance to Broadcroft, a distance of approximately 1,065 metres.

Drivers will be asked to divert onto the coast road, the B3157.

This order will enable Core Highways Ltd to carry out in-situ recycling carriageway treatment.

It's needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

For more information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements, call Core Highways Ltd on 07584 993589.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
