A main road across Dorset has been closed following a serious crash.
The A31 was closed both ways between the A350 at Sturminster Marshall (Roundhouse roundabout) and the B3078 at EastEnd near Wimborne due to a serious car and motorcycle crash.
Emergency services were on scene and National Highways contractors have been assisting with road closures and clean up.
One person was taken to Poole Hospital via ambulance.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At 11.25am on Friday, August 30, Dorset Police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A31 near Henbury Farm in Sturminster Marshall involving a car and a motorbike.
"Officers are in attendance with the ambulance service.
"The road is currently blocked with a road closure put in place from the Roundhouse roundabout."
The road remained closed throughout the afternoon with diversion routes in place.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We were called at 11.23am to a road traffic collision near Sturminster Marshall, Wimborne.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and a critical care car to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital."
The road has since reopened and traffic has returned to normal.
