A new clothing bank is due to open in Weymouth next month to help those who are struggling.
The Family Matters Weymouth and Portland charity was established in 2020 and supports local families by collecting and organising donated items such as clothes for 0-3s, towels, playmats, highchairs, cots, buggies, toiletries, toys, and games.
Now it has announced that it will be opening a new adult clothing and homeware section which will be open from 1 to 3.30pm every Tuesday afternoon starting from September 10.
The charity used to be based on Cambridge Road on the Granby Industrial Estate, Weymouth. While still on the Granby, it is now based at 3-6 South Park, Avon Close, next to WeyPrint.
Family Matters is a part of Refresh The Church of Weymouth and Portland In Action – an organisation that pushes for social action by supporting local charities helping those in poverty.
The charity is now accepting donations of clothing and small household items for the new bank.
