TWO applications for changes at two East Dorset garden centres have resulted in different outcomes from council planners.

Stewarts Garden Centre at Holt has seen an application for a pergola approved while at a West Parley garden centre an application to use land to the east of an existing car park for overflow parking at busy periods, was refused a certificate of lawful use.

Other applications decided by Dorset Council include a home gym in the rear garden of a property at Dorchester Road, Upton and an extension to a pet shop and tea rooms at Wolvercroft Garden Centre, Fordingbridge Road, Alderholt.

P/CLE/2024/03178 : 392 Christchurch Road West Parley BH22 8SW. The use of the land to the east of the existing car park, as an overflow carpark (for the garden centre business during busy periods of trading). Refused.

P/HOU/2024/03179 : 22 Dorchester Road Upton BH16 5NR. Construction of summerhouse and home gym in rear garden. Granted.

P/CLP/2024/02545 – Woodleigh Horton Road Horton Heath BH21 7JN. Erect a side extension to form ensuite within permitted development rights and internally reconfigure the layout of our one-story home. Granted.

P/HOU/2024/02457: 12 Cedar Drive Canford Bottom BH21 2JH. Single storey rear extension and single storey front extension. Granted.
