A MAIN road on Portland will undergo overnight road maintenance works.

There will be a 10mph speed restriction on the A354 at Victoria Square overnight from Friday, September 9 until Saturday, September 14.

From Mondays to Thursdays the works will take place from 8pm to 6am and on Fridays they will take place from 9pm until 7am.

The 10mph speed limit will be indicated by signs on site on the approaches to and including Victoria Square, to facilitate a convoy system.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

There will be a temporary clearway on A354 as indicated by signs on site on the approaches to and including Victoria Square

The traffic management order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
