A TRADITIONAL advertising board on the side of a house in Dorchester Road, Weymouth is to be replaced with an electronic, digital display.
The board, which takes 48 large sheets of printed paper to make up an advertisement, will be replaced with a board of similar size which can be controlled remotely and changed without the need for someone to climb a ladder and paste on the wall.
Dorset Council has given Alight Media consent for the change for the gable end of 249 Dorchester Road. Weymouth Town Council had not objected to the proposal.
The existing board is 5 metres from ground level and will be replaced by a similar sized LED electronic version, 6 by 3 metres, which will be lit up internally, showing only static images.
