A popular festival returns to Dorchester for its fourteenth year today.
The Anonymous Festival is taking place at Borough Gardens in Dorchester with hundreds expected to gather.
The family-friendly free event is packed full of activities for all ages, from craft and clay to bouncy castles and bungee trampolines.
Visitors will have the opportunity to test their staying power with an inflatable rodeo, get a henna or glitter tattoo, try crazy golf or have their photo taken in a vintage horsebox. There will also be masterclasses in how to create a special effect wound.
The main attraction on the day is the music, with a live entertainment taking place throughout the day across two stages from young performers. The Vinyl Van will be spinning discs in the chill out corner.
Headlining this year, is the up-and-coming band Kings- a Queen tribute band by four female vocalists. They have been performing at numerous festivals, holiday parks and theatres across the region. Also performing will be Jack Saunders, Darcey Allen, rock band South Street, Willow Moore, Munvader, Pop Club, Corey Farwell, The Hooked, Georgina Ball, as well as duo, Beth and Jordan
Expect a mouth-watering variety of affordable food, which includes burgers, sausages and chips, Mexican tortillas and chilli, Thai dishes, authentic falafels and pancakes. There will also be popcorn, candy floss, cakes and ice-cream.
Event organiser, Emma Scott from Dorchester Town Council says “A special shout out must go out to the funders and supporters of the event including Dorchester Town Council, Dorset Council, Waitrose, the Poundbury Community Trust, Magna Housing, Co-op, Dorchester Round Table and Sams Scaffolding - who are providing the staging this year.
“Plus thanks to our partners Antix Music, Keep 106 Radio and the Vinyl Van. We’re really pleased to have raised the money so that we can offer all the activities for free and support our local families and community.”
