A man has come forward following a CCTV appeal in relation to a reported theft in Dorset.
It was reported that a man approached a vulnerable man in the car park of the Tesco’s shop on Christy’s Lane in Shaftesbury and asked to borrow cash to cover repairs for the victim’s car.
The victim was confused and went with the man to the cash machine at the store, where £250 was withdrawn and given to the man.
Making enquiries with his garage, the victim had confirmed that no cash was owed and the man involved was not connected to the damage.
Reported at around 5pm on Wednesday, July 3, an appeal was launched earlier this month by police.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Following enquiries by officers and a CCTV appeal, a man has now come forward and is assisting police with their investigation. No arrests have been made.”
