Staff and customers at a supermarket in Weymouth had to be evacuated earlier today.
The evacuation was called after a carbon dioxide (Co2) alarm went off inside the Tesco Express in Portland Road in Wyke Regis.
The store was forced to close with an engineer called out to examine the problem and discovered The alarm was triggered to due to a faulty sensor.
This meant that there were no dangerous levels of Co2 detected in the store and there was no risk to staff and customers who were in the store at the time.
The shop has now reopened.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “Our Weymouth Express store is open as usual after a brief closure earlier today (Saturday 17 August). We apologise for the inconvenience.”
