Bank Holiday weekend in August will see the return of a popular free flower festival.
The three-day Flower Festival at Abbey Farm in Abbotsbury will be packed ful of talks, demos,
walks, workshops and competitions from Saturday, August 24.
Festival organisers are encouraging visitors to bring out their 'inner flower goddesses or gods' and dress in floral prints for the event.
There will be an award for the most creative flower-inspired outfit too with entrants needing to visit 'From My Mother’s Garden' to have their photo taken to enter.
There are five competitions in total at the event including create a miniature garden, floral arts & crafts , 'A Vase From My Garden', and the 'Best Floral Outfit' , and Abbotsbury village floral door decoration.
A spokesperson for the event said: “We would love as many people as possible to get into the spirit of the event and dress in floral clothes, hats, corsages, fascinators and perhaps any four-legged friends might also join in".
Submissions need to be brought to the event on the first day and will be judged by public
vote.
Abbey Barn will also be opening for visitors to view.
In total around 30 stalls plus studios by makers who create art and crafts inspired by
nature.

- Talk: Herbs as Medicines by Sarah Hillyer
- Talk: Dahlias by Anna May of Dorset Dahlias
- Walk: A Bouquet of Words writing walk with Ink & Page
- Talk: Orchids by Simon Pugh-Jones Isle of Portland Orchids
- Demo: Sustainable Church Flowers by Charlotte Heavisides
- Talk: What Can You Do For Bees and What Bees Can Do For You by Weymouth
- & Portland Bees
- Walk: Herb & Berry Walk with herbalist Sarah Hillyer
