AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a 20-year-old woman who was found unresponsive in her home.
Imogen Maia Moorsom was pronounced dead by paramedics after being found in her home in Blandford Forum.
Assistant coroner for Dorset, Richard Middleton, opened the inquest into her death at Bournemouth Town Hall on August 16.
Coroner’s officer, Sarah Harrison, told Dorset Coroner’s Court that Imogen was born in Poole on May 20, 2004.
At the time of her death Imogen was single and a student.
On August 12 Imogen was found unresponsive in her bedroom in Parkwood, Milton Abbas.
Police and the ambulance service were called but she was sadly pronounced deceased at 11.05am.
Imogen was formally identified by Rosemary Moorsom and police found no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
A post-mortem examination was conducted by Dr Robert Blahurt at Holly Tree Lodge on August 15.
He found Imogen’s medical cause of death to be strangulation.
Mr Middleton adjourned the full inquest until March 13, 2025 at 10am.
