Sunshine is set to return in Dorset this weekend and there are plenty of ways to make the most of the warm weather.

Temperatures are set to reach highs of 22 degrees - a welcome change from the rain and overcast earlier this week.

We have put together a list of fun activities going on across the weekend for you to enjoy.

Dorchester Cider Festival:

Dorchester Cider Festival will return to the Borough Gardens this Saturday, August 17, from 2pm to 10.30pm.

There will be more than 80 different types of cider to sample, ranging from traditional scrumpy for the purists to raspberry and bubble-gum flavours – ensuring there is everything under the sun to choose from.

Fun Run at Maiden Castle Farm:

An early evening run right through the sunflower fields and around Maiden Castle, will be taking place on Saturday, August 17

The event is part of Dorset's Annual Sunflower Trail, which opened earlier this week, with visitors flocking to see thousands of the summery flowers at Maiden Castle Farm.

It's become hugely popular over the years, with pictures of visitors and the sunflowers flooding social media.

While the fun run is fully booked, people are welcome to come along and spur on the runners.

Bridport Carnival:

Further afield in West Dorset, the Bridport Carnival is currently underway. The annual event is a highlight of the town's calendar, featuring live music, fireworks, a fun fair, grand procession and the much loved torchlight parade.

It kicked off on last Sunday and will continue until Sunday, August 18, culminating in Bridport Carnival Procession on Saturday, which will line up at West Allington from 5.45pm and moves off at 7pm
