Police found cannabis after searching a young person in Weymouth Crematorium.
Over the last few weeks, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team have received reports of drug use, drug dealing and general anti-social behaviour (ASB) within the grounds of Weymouth Crematorium.
Officers were on mobile patrol in the crematorium on Monday, August 12, and located two individuals acting in a "suspicious manner".
The individuals were stopped and searched and a small amount of herbal cannabis was found.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "The individual involved was interviewed for this matter and admitted the offence, this will now be referred to the youth out-of-court team where he will be dealt with for possession of a Class B drug.
"Officers would like to remind users of the crematorium that this is a place for people to visit loved ones.
"Officers will not tolerate ongoing anti-social behaviour and will act proactively to ensure that the public can use the grounds in the intended way."
