Thousands are expected to line the streets of Weymouth for captivating cultural free night-time performances as an event returns for its fourth year.

Dusk Til Dark will return to the streets on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28, transforming the town into a vibrant hub of music, lights and drumbeat.

Now in its fourth year, the free event organised by We Are Weymouth in collaboration with Activate Performing Arts, will welcome back the Worldbeaters who will be performing the ‘Spark’ show combining dynamic drumming and light displays. There will also be the world premiere of the show ‘Fireflies’.

Around 22 students from Weymouth College are also expected to participate in the event as drummers over the weekend.

Spark will take place on the Friday, and will pop up in three different locations across the town.

The full route will be announced in the lead-up.

The Fireflies performance will take place on the Saturday on Weymouth Esplanade, and feature a mixture of drumming, light and community performers.

Dom Kippin, Producer, Activate Performing Arts comments: “Dusk Til Dark in Weymouth has become a real legacy event for the town and we’re proud of the performances we have brought, filling the town with music, art and incredible light displays.

“Worldbeaters are also working with students of Weymouth College, bringing around 22 new drummers into the mix. Not only do we have the world premiere of a new show, but it’s set to be bigger and better than we ever imagined thanks to the students. We encourage everyone to join us, line the streets and be immersed in the sound of Worldbeaters.”

We know that visitors anticipate this incredible cultural event, a celebration of art, music, and togetherness and this year is no different, with the world premiere of ‘Fireflies’.

“Dusk Til Dark is sponsored by the business community who invite everyone to enjoy the delights of Weymouth before and after all the performances visiting for both nights. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring spectacular performing arts events to our coastal town.”
