A DORSET holiday site is seeking to end restrictions which stops caravans and tents being on the site over winter.

The Huntick Farm Caravan Park at Lytchett Matravers has been legally restricted, since the mid 1980s, to 30 caravans and has had to clear the site between November 1st and March 15th every year.

That decision was taken by the former Purbeck District Council. The agreement also restricts any buildings on the site, without the express permission of the council.

Ward councillor Alex Brenton has told Dorset Council’s planning officers that more information is required about the application: “If the owner has been in breach of planning rules since 1985 why has nothing been enforced? This site is used as caravan storage, is it clear that no residential or seasonal occupation has happened? The restriction on a permanent building should be considered separately as a planning application.”

Public comments on the proposal can be made to Dorset  Council by August 15th.
