Firefighters rushed to a beach in west Dorset following reports of a fire.
The cause was an unattended campfire, which had spread 200 metres across the beach due to dry driftwood.
The fire was reported at 9.13am on Monmouth Beach in Lyme Regis on Sunday.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “While we appreciate small campfires do occur at the beach, please follow our advice on having them safely and make sure that they are fully extinguished before leaving.”
