A man has been taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds following an assault.
Police and ambulance services attended the incident in Chiswell, Portland at around 12.51pm today.
A man has also been arrested in connection with the incident.
It is understood that the victims injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A police cordon has been put in place at the scene as enquiries are carried out by officers.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At 12.51pm on Monday, August 5, Dorset Police received a report that a man had sustained suspected stab wounds following an assault in Chiswell on Portland.
"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
"It is believed that the victim and the arrested man are known to one another.
"A police cordon has been put in place at the scene as enquiries are carried out.
"There will be an increased policing presence in the vicinity and officers can be approached by members of the public with information or concerns."
