A man has been arrested on driving offences in connection with a dramatic crash in a village near Weymouth.

Police said a motorist had failed to stop for police on the Esplanade in Weymouth around 9.10pm on Saturday, August 3.

Four minutes later, the police received a report that the same car had crashed into a building on the A353 in the village of Osmington.

The occupant, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and was taken to hospital as a precaution for injuries- which police say were not serious.
