Residents were left shocked and shaken and homes damaged after a car lost control in their village and smashed into walls before flipping over in a serious night-time crash.
Residents say the car left a trail of destruction as it careered down the road before overturning - possibly multiple times.
Locals say that a person who left the crashed vehicle was pursued by three residents before police arrived.
Despite the damage it is not thought anyone was seriously hurt.
The crash happened at around 9.15pm on Saturday on the A353 through Osmington.

A long stretch of a garden wall has been levelled, windows of properties smashed, and a telegraph pole has snapped - leaning precariously towards the bedroom of a home.
Police cars, a fire crew, ambulances and even a police helicopter were on the scene on Saturday night into Sunday.
The road was closed throughout the night to allow a police investigation to take place.
Dorset Police has been contacted for a statement.
Debris from the crash still littered the road yesterday; a broken wing mirror, red shards from the brake lights, glass and other assorted wreckage.
Residents of the village spoke of their shock following the horrifying crash.
Daniel and Vicki Leonard's home was one of those damaged by the crash.
Mr Leonard said: "Madness, absolute madness. We have two children and it terrified our youngest.
"It was a hell of an evening. The car was on its side.
"A person got out of the car and run off. Two chaps ran after him and apparently caught him in the field."
Mrs Leonard added: "I rang the police at 9.14pm. It was all a blur. I realised everyone was ok and I was crying and shaking.
"If there had been a car coming down the road the other way... we are so lucky there wasn't."
Mrs Leonard adds that the community was 'amazing' in coming out to help each other following the crash.
Richard Brown is another whose home was damaged in the crash.
He said: "I just feel shocked really. For me, it felt like it was thunder at first.
"There is just relief that no one has been injured or killed. It was scary, most of us were shaking.
"The police were here very quickly, in a few minutes.
"Hopefully all the damage will be covered by insurance."

Caroline and John Booth had been sitting downstairs when the car knocked a telegraph pole just over their bedroom. The couple slept in another room that night just to be safe.
Mr Booth said: "All we heard was a huge bang just after 9pm. When we looked at what there was there was a car on its side and our wall was damaged. It is so lucky there was nobody in the road, they would have been smashed."
Mrs Booth added: "(The telegraph pole) is right over our bed really, it is frightful."
One resident, who did not wish to be named, had just been putting his kids to bed when he heard the crash.
He chased a person thought to be the driver into a nearby field with two others. He said: "When we caught up he had already been stopped by someone else.
"He looked very concussed, he had quite a nasty crash. I don't know how many times that car rolled.
"He collapsed and police came to take over."
