Residents and guests at care home have been treated to a live opera performance.
Trinity Manor Care Home in Sherborne enjoyed a live performance from the very popular Opera in Oborne group, with a selection of musical numbers delighting the residents.
They performed music from their scheduled performance of Veri’s La Traviata. One of the most iconic, romantic and tragic operas of all time.
Opera in Oborne aims to make opera accessible to all and encourages first time opera-goers. Operas are cleverly abridged by the director, Stephen Anthony Brown and usually last two hours. Televisions are used to show the audience plot prompts throughout the performances.
Senior general manage at the care home, Sohail Daniel said, “Our residents and guests had a wonderful afternoon singing along with the wonderful performers. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Trinity Manor Care Home as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and this was one of our favourites.”
Deputy manager, Paul Pippard added: “We are so grateful to our guests for taking the time out of their busy schedule. The resident’s absolute loved the afternoon, you can just see by their faces how much it meant to them.”
