A festival of fun will rake over a historic home in Dorset, with dancing, puppetry and other adventures on offer over the summer.
National Trust property Kingston Lacy, near Wimborne, is holding a Summer of Play at the historic site. Festival Field will be open every day until Sunday, September 1 between 9.30am to 4pm.
Heather Dawe, Senior Visitor Experience Officer, said: “Visitors will find a Festival Field, set up every day with picnic benches, storybooks, a bouncy fruits racetrack, a rainbow tickle tunnel and plenty of play equipment to entertain everyone from the littlest babies to the oldest great grandparents.
“We really enjoying seeing families making memories together, telling stories, playing games and relaxing.”
Throughout the summer holidays there’s also a packed programme of events and activities, many of which are free after admission, with different themes to keep everyone engaged.
Energising morning dance parties and children’s yoga will take over Tuesdays, whilst Wednesdays are a day for activity with a host of different crafts or sensory activities to try.
Storytelling sessions will inspire little ones on Thursdays.
In the first week of August, the on-site ranger team are offering a range of activities to help people discover insects and bugs, or help them build a bug hotel and hibernaculum in the woods.
The event is sponsored by Starling Bank. For details of timings and prices, visit the Kingston Lacy website and check out the upcoming events under the ‘things to see and do’ tab.
