Police forced entry to a caravan to rescue a dog on the hottest day of the year.
Reports came on Tuesday that a dog had been left inside a caravan with no ventilation and was suffering from extreme heat.
Entry was forced into the caravan in the Poole area, where the dog was found to be left with no water.
The RSPCA attended to assist the officers and will be progressing matters further. The dog was fortunately not injured.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police, said: “Please remember, dogs die in hot cars, caravans, conservatories, and outbuildings on a warm day.
“Temperatures rose to around 30 degrees today, which can quickly create temperatures of 53 degrees in environments such as those mentioned. Please stay safe out there in this heat and pay particular attention to your four-legged friends.”
