Emergency crews were on the scene at a busy beach in Dorset after reports of a missing child.

A major emergency response was reported on Branksome Chine Beach in Bournemouth around 2.50pm today (Tuesday, July 30). Police, coastguard and fire crews were on the scene to locate a missing child.

The person has since been found.  

A spokesperson for Dorset Police, said: “The deployment of officers and the helicopter in the area was in relation to a search for a missing person who has been found.”

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: "A child reported missing at about 2.50pm on 30 July at Branksome Chine beach, Poole, has been found.

"Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent from Southbourne and Poole, as well as the RNLI's Poole lifeboat, Poole Bay lifeguards and Dorset Police."
