The first of this summer’s much-lived fireworks displays in Weymouth returns tonight.

Hosted by Weymouth Town Council, the first of five displays over the summer returns at 9.30pm today (Monday, July 29).

It is planned for displays to take place every Monday at 9.30pm through to the final display on August 26.

The free to attend evenings will see fireworks launched from a boat anchored in Weymouth Bay. The firework displays will be provided by Sirotechnics again.

A spokesman for Weymouth Town Council said: "Spectacular views will be available along the length of the seafront."

Popular for both locals and tourists, there will be plenty of hospitality and attractions along the seafront alongside the events.

People are encouraged, where possible, to leave their cars at home and walk or use public transport, when getting to and from the displays.

Last year’s displays (2023) cost the council around £18,000 with additional funds brought in by sponsors.
