DORSET Wildlife Trust has applied to install 80 metres of low roped fencing on a beach.
The charity has asked the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Chesil Beach Common.
The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State.
The proposed works are for the installation of low roped fencing running 80 metres in length and located close to the Fine Foundation Wild Chesil Centre, the Trust's visitor centre at Chesil Beach along the causeway to Portland.
A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Fine Foundation Wild Chesil Centre, Portland Beach Road, Portland, DT4 9XE during normal office hours until August 19.
