A highly anticipated parachute display will not go ahead.
The world-famous Red Devils were set to perform a thrilling performance as part of the Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week.
Sadly, due to operational commitments the team are not able to perform, however they hope to be able to make an appearance at next year’s event.
Ken Lavery, chairman of the Lyme Regis and Charmouth Supporters said: “We understand that the cancellation is due to operational commitments and the Red Devils have apologised saying that Lyme Regis is a favourite visit for them and they hope to come next year.”
There is still plenty to see and do throughout the week and organisers are excited to see the brilliant line-up of events take place.
Organisers of Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week added: “We regret to announce that the Army's Red Devils parachute display team will not be taking part as planned on Wednesday, July.
“Despite this disappointment Lifeboat Week still has many exciting events starting tomorrow (July 27), with the official opening by TV's Jules Hudson at 11am, the welcome display by Lyme Regis and Exmouth lifeboats at 11.30am and the ever-popular bath tub race at 12pm.
“Due to the Red Devils cancellation, we are also bringing forward the time of our famous lifeboat week hot dogs.
“The lifeboat crew will be serving from 12.30pm on Wednesday using “Puffin Billy” on the slipway outside the lifeboat station at just £4 each.”
