CAMP BESTIVAL has got off to a roaring start this sunny weekend.

The festival has returned to Lulworth Castle and promises a dazzling show as it celebrates its 16th year.

Festivalgoers dressed head to toe in vibrant outfits flocked through the gates of Lulworth in anticipation of the weekend ahead.

The weekend kicked off to a great start with a performance from Camp Bestival founder, Rob Da Bank in the caravanserai tent, a tent surrounded by vintage motorhomes.

Children’s entertainer Mister Maker entertained children with a mixture of songs and dances during the day, followed by CBBCs Hacker T Dog and Katie Thistleton.

McFly put on a spectacular display in the evening, showcasing their talent to thousands of spectators.

The popular boy band performed hit songs ‘All About You’ and ‘Obviously’.

One fan who saw McFly take the main stage said: “Their stage presence was breathtaking, what a night, I felt like I was reliving my childhood.”

Visitors were also entertained throughout the day by cultural performances such as Bollywood dances and makeup mogul turned DJ Gok Wan performed his electrifying set on the Castle Stage.

As well as musical acts, there was also a silent disco, creative workshops and an array of food vans to enjoy.

Tomorrow evenings main highlights include international superstar Paloma Faith and ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ singer and frequent Camp Bestival performer, Sophie Ellis Bextor.
