Weymouth was host to an outstanding evening of glittery costumes, dazzling dance routines and incredible musical numbers as the Magic of Motown finally arrived.
The popular stage show recently visited Weymouth Pavilion and saw audiences singing their hearts out and dancing ‘all night long’ to popular Motown Hits.
The cast were on top-form as they performed musical numbers from the likes of Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5 and Diana Ross.
There were even a couple of duets performed like ‘Endless Love’ by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie and ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,’ by Marvin Gaye and Tami Terrell.
Despite accidentally ending up in the wrong seats, we had an absolute ball singing along to he hit tracks and dancing the night away at the back of the theatre.
Everyone appeared to be having a great time, but the pivotal moment of the show was towards the end when the sounds of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’ played out – this even saw the toe-tappers in the audience up on their feet.
Motown is an American record label owned by the Universal Music Group, founded by Berry Gordy Jr. And what’s not to love about Motown music.
If you are looking for a sit-down show with a storyline, this might not be for you. It’s full of energy and perfect to sing along to.
The show has been watched by well-over one million people and is continuing to tour across the country.
If you love Motown music and fancy an opportunity to have a sing and a dance – then this is definitely a show for you.
