Around £400 worth of items were stolen from a car at picturesque spot in Dorset.
Police were called to a report of theft from a vehicle in a rural car park in the Corfe Castle area between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Wednesday, July 24.
The owner of the car left belongings on display, which unfortunately had items stolen to the value of £400.
According to police, the offenders gained access by smashing the rear window.
The area is being patrolled as part of Dorset Police’s 100 Days of Summer initiative, aiming to see officers on dedicated foot patrols at key locations and times for 100 days across Weymouth, the Purbecks, and other areas of Dorset.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At this time of year we regularly patrol our crime hotspot areas.
“These locations include some of our rural car parks to remind visitors to the Purbeck area not to leave valuables on display. Yesterday between 12:30-13:30hrs in the Corfe Castle area, the owner of a vehicle left their belongings on display and unfortunately had items stolen to the value of £400.
“It is believed that offenders gained access by smashing the rear window.”
