Firefighters were called to a fire at a home in Dorset caused by a plastic tray.
Crew from Sherborne and Yeovil Fire Station rushed to the fire in Yetminster at around 9.23pm on Wednesday, July 24.
Whilst the crew were on route to the location, more information was received that the fire was out but smoke was present at the property.
The firefighters reached the property, and said the fire was caused by a plastic tray being placed on a warm electric hob.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, said: “Whilst at our weekly drill night both appliances from Sherborne and one from Yeovil Fire Station were mobilised to a property fire in Yetminster.
“En route more information was received that the fire was out but smoke was still in the property. Thankfully this was a small fire due to a plastic tray being placed on a warm electric hob. Electric hobs can stay warm for a long time after use so please be careful.
“Thankfully working smoke detectors in the property alerted the occupier at the early stages."
